Content pack out means we pack up your belongings, take them out of the affected area, and store or clean them while the house is dried and repaired. On a small job, it just means moving furniture to a dry room and setting it on blocks. On a large basement flood in Spanish Fork, it can mean emptying the whole floor.
Our crew photographs every room before anything moves. Each item goes on an inventory with its condition and a note about whether it's salvageable, needs cleaning, or is a loss. That list becomes the contents part of your claim, and adjusters want it room by room.
Furniture legs go on foam blocks or plastic tabs so they don't stain wet carpet with wood tannin or rust. Books, photos and paper documents that got wet can often be saved if they're frozen quickly and dried later, so we bag them separately. Electronics that got wet should not be turned on until they are checked.
Things that sat in Category 3 water usually can't be cleaned to a safe level. Mattresses and particleboard furniture are the usual losses. We photograph them, list them and dispose of them with your approval. Hard items like dishes, metal and glass can be cleaned and disinfected.
When drying and repairs are done, we bring everything back and put it where it was. The pack out inventory also makes it easier to spot anything that needs upholstery cleaning or odor removal before it goes back in.
