Mold remediation in Spanish Fork usually comes after a leak that nobody caught in time. A slow drip under a sink. A basement that flooded and got dried with box fans. A bathroom fan venting into the attic instead of outside. Mold needs moisture and about 48 to 72 hours to start growing on drywall paper and wood.
Our mold remediation starts at the source. First we find and stop the moisture source, because removing mold without fixing the water just means it grows back. Then we set containment with poly sheeting and a zipper door, and run a HEPA air scrubber under negative pressure so spores don't drift into the rest of the house.
Inside containment, moldy drywall, insulation and carpet pad come out, bagged and sealed before they leave the room. Framing and subfloor with surface growth get HEPA vacuumed, scrubbed or sanded, and wiped with an antimicrobial. We don't paint over mold. Encapsulating a stud that still has active growth on it is a shortcut we won't take.
Attics are their own case. In a cold climate like ours, warm moist air that leaks up from the house turns to frost on the underside of the roof deck in winter, then melts on sunny afternoons. Over a few winters it leaves black staining on the sheathing. Fixing that means sealing air leaks and checking ventilation as well as cleaning the wood.
If you want to see what you're dealing with before work starts, see mold testing. After remediation, we can arrange clearance testing so you have written proof the job is done.
