Claim documentation is part of every water damage job we do in Spanish Fork. Most homeowners have filed one claim, maybe two, in their life. Adjusters handle them every day. We help close that gap by giving the adjuster the documentation they expect, in the format they expect it.
From the first hour on site, we photograph the damage, the source and the moisture readings. We map wet areas on a floor plan. Every day during structural drying we log readings at the same points, and those logs show how long the drying took and why. Our estimates are line-item, written in Xactimate, which is the estimating software most carriers use.
We can talk to your adjuster directly, meet them on site, and answer questions about what was removed and why. You stay in control of the claim, though. We don't act as a public adjuster and we don't negotiate your settlement for you.
A few things to check before you call your carrier. Sudden and accidental water, like a burst pipe or a ruptured water heater tank, is usually covered. Gradual leaks that went on for months often are not. Sewer backup and sump pump overflow usually need a separate endorsement. Surface flooding from outside needs a separate flood policy.
Take photos before anything is moved, keep receipts for any emergency costs, and don't throw away damaged items until the adjuster has seen them or approved disposal. Our content pack out inventory covers that part.
